the "sudestada"'s cyclon and its antidote. |
"sudestada" is a typical weather phenomenon of the rio de la plata’s region, that consists in the fast spin of south cold winds to the south-east quadrant, acting to fresh and fast changes of temperature.
at the same way the argentinean sudestada – composed by federico mizrahi (from one of the ensamble of tango more appreciates in the world: demoliendo tangos), frank cafici and pablo vita - bring us a mix of tango and lounge music strengthening and stretching, pushing into tango, contemporary and innovative sound garments.
with the silky ligia piro's guest voice, for microcosmo dischi they publish the single entitled "vida mía" (the song is already available on itunes), that it anticipates their first album named, "tango lounge". to us is the perfect antidote to the warm evenings of the end of the summer.
and just to taste the sudestada's song in a better way, here there is a brand new cocktail invented by the creative cooker (and sudestada cover's photographer) fiordizucca (click here to visit her site):
sudestada cocktail
ingredients for 4 glasses:
* 2 watermelon thick slices
* 1 peach
* London Gin
* 4 Tbsp mint syrup
* tonic water
* ice cubes
* lemon slices to garnish
remove the seeds from the watemelon and blend it together with the peach. put a couple of ice cubes in each glass and fill with two quarter of the blended watermelon. fill the other half with gin and tonic water accordingly to your tastes, if you want it more or less alcoholic. finally pour 1 tsp of mint syrup in each glass, so that it goes at the bottom of it. garnish with slices of lemon and serve immediately.
